PROFESSIONAL JET WASHING & EXTERIOR CLEANING IN REDHILL, REIGATE AND SURROUNDING AREAS

Block paved driveway before it has been pressure cleaned in CrawleyBlock paved driveway after it has been pressure cleaned in Crawley
A great before and after transformation of this block-paved driveway. The paving has been thoroughly cleaned, removing the built-up dirt, moss and grime. It still needs to be re-sanded, but the driveway needs to dry out properly first before the kiln-dried sand can be brushed back into the joints.

If your driveway, patio, paths or other outdoor surfaces are looking tired, dirty, green or covered in moss and algae, professional pressure washing can make a remarkable difference.

I’m Matthew, The Jet Wash Fella, and I provide professional pressure washing and exterior cleaning services for homes and businesses in Redhill, Reigate and surrounding areas of Surrey.

I have around 20 years of hands-on experience cleaning exterior surfaces, and I believe good pressure washing is about much more than simply pointing a powerful machine at a dirty surface.

Different materials need different cleaning methods.

A concrete driveway can be treated very differently from natural sandstone. Block paving may need cleaning and re-sanding, while decking requires a much more controlled approach. The aim is always to achieve the best possible clean while taking care of the surface underneath.

If you have a dirty driveway, slippery patio, algae-covered paths, weathered decking or an exterior area that simply needs bringing back to life, send me some photographs and I’ll be happy to provide a free, no-obligation quote.

  • Decking cleaning
  • Garden path cleaning
  • Brick and wall cleaning

Every job is assessed individually because the condition, material and age of the surface can all affect the best cleaning method.

Driveway Cleaning in Redhill & Reigate

Driveways naturally collect dirt, moss, algae, weeds, tyre marks and general weather staining.

A professional driveway clean can remove much of this accumulated dirt and dramatically improve the appearance of the front of your property.

I clean a variety of driveway surfaces, including:

  • Block paving
  • Concrete
  • Natural stone
  • Paving slabs
  • Tarmac where appropriate
  • Other suitable exterior surfaces

For block-paved driveways, I can also re-sand the joints with kiln-dried sand after cleaning where required.

This can help replace sand lost during cleaning and leave the paving looking much neater.

Brick Cleaning, Driveway Cleaning 5Brick Cleaning, Driveway Cleaning 4
This brick wall and driveway were badly in need of a good clean. After applying a suitable treatment first and allowing it time to work, the dirt and grime came away really well. A fantastic transformation and a much cleaner, fresher-looking finish!

Patio Cleaning in Redhill & Reigate

Patios can become particularly dirty over time.

Algae, moss, lichen, black spots, atmospheric dirt and general weathering can gradually change the appearance of the paving. Some patios can also become slippery when wet.

I clean patios made from a range of materials, including:

  • Natural sandstone
  • Indian sandstone
  • Concrete slabs
  • Block paving
  • Porcelain
  • Other suitable paving materials

The cleaning method is selected according to the surface.

Natural sandstone needs particular care

Sandstone is one of my favourite surfaces to clean, but it is also a surface that needs respect.

Natural sandstone is relatively soft compared with concrete, so simply using maximum pressure is not necessarily the best way to clean it.

For heavily weathered sandstone, I may use a suitable soft-wash cleaning product first, allow it to dwell on the surface without drying out, and then use controlled pressure to remove the loosened dirt, algae, lichen and black spotting.

The objective is not simply to make the stone clean.

It’s to bring back the natural colour and character of the sandstone without unnecessarily damaging the surface.

Black Spot, Moss, Algae and Lichen Removal

One of the most common reasons people contact me is because their patio or paving has developed dark black spots or green growth.

These marks can be caused by organic growth such as:

  • Algae
  • Moss
  • Lichen
  • Dirt and atmospheric pollution
  • Weather staining
  • General organic deposits

Some black spotting can be particularly stubborn and may require more than simply passing a pressure washer over the surface.

Where appropriate, I use cleaning treatments alongside controlled pressure washing to help break down stubborn organic contamination.

The exact process depends on the paving material and condition.

Decking Cleaning in Redhill & Reigate

Timber decking needs a different approach to concrete or block paving.

Too much pressure, used incorrectly, can damage the timber, raise the grain or cause splintering.

I use a more controlled cleaning method for decking, concentrating on removing:

  • Algae
  • Green growth
  • Dirt
  • Weathering
  • Black spotting
  • General surface contamination

The aim is to clean the decking while retaining as much of the natural timber surface as possible.

Once cleaned and properly dried, decking can also be treated or stained if required.

Pathways, Walls, Brickwork and Outdoor Areas

Pressure washing isn’t just about patios and driveways.

I also clean suitable exterior areas such as:

  • Garden paths
  • Paved walkways
  • Brickwork
  • Walls
  • Outdoor seating areas
  • Garden areas
  • Business entrances
  • Commercial walkways

Moss, algae, dirt and weather staining can make outdoor areas look tired and can sometimes make walking surfaces slippery.

Cleaning these areas can make a property look considerably fresher without the need for expensive replacement.

Why Choose The Jet Wash Fella?

Around 20 Years of Hands-On Experience

I’ve been cleaning exterior surfaces for around two decades.

That experience matters because pressure washing isn’t simply about having a powerful machine.

Knowing how much pressure to use, which nozzle to use, how close to work and when not to use high pressure at all can make a big difference to the finished result.

Honest Advice

If I don’t think pressure washing is the right solution for your surface, I’ll tell you.

Some materials require soft washing or a gentler cleaning process, while certain older or delicate surfaces may need particular care.

I’d rather explain the situation honestly than risk damaging somebody’s property.

Professional Equipment

I use professional pressure washing equipment rather than relying on a small domestic pressure washer.

Professional equipment gives me the ability to adjust the cleaning process according to the job rather than using the same method for every surface.

Careful Surface Cleaning

Different surfaces require different techniques.

For example:

Concrete: can generally tolerate a more robust cleaning approach.

Block paving: may require cleaning followed by re-sanding.

Sandstone: needs controlled pressure because it is a softer natural stone.

Decking: requires careful pressure and technique to reduce the risk of damaging the timber.

Porcelain: needs an appropriate cleaning method that takes the surface and joints into consideration.

This is why I don’t believe in a “one pressure fits all” approach.

Domestic & Commercial Pressure Washing

I don’t only clean residential properties.

I also provide exterior cleaning for suitable commercial properties in and around Redhill and Reigate.

This can include:

  • Business entrances
  • Shop fronts and surrounding paving
  • Commercial walkways
  • Forecourts
  • Car parks
  • Bin areas
  • Outdoor customer areas
  • Other suitable hard surfaces

Commercial cleaning can be arranged as a one-off deep clean or, where appropriate, as part of a regular maintenance programme.

For larger commercial jobs, I’ll assess the site beforehand so we can consider access, water supply, drainage, vehicles and working times.

Does Pressure Washing Make a Difference?

Absolutely — but the result depends on the surface and its condition.

A heavily weathered patio can sometimes look completely different after cleaning because years of dirt and organic growth have been removed.

The same applies to block paving and driveways.

However, I always explain that pressure washing cleans the existing surface; it doesn’t magically turn old paving into brand-new paving.

Existing cracks, damaged slabs, worn surfaces, staining that has penetrated deeply, damaged pointing or faded materials may still be visible after cleaning.

That’s why I prefer to give realistic advice rather than promise that every surface will look “brand new”.

Getting a quote is straightforward.

1. Send me some photographs

Photos are often enough for me to get a good idea of the size, material and condition of the area.

2. I’ll look at the surface

I’ll consider what you’re having cleaned and whether there are any obvious issues that could affect the cleaning method.

3. You’ll receive a quote

I’ll provide a price for the work with no obligation.

4. We arrange a suitable time

If you’re happy with the quote, we’ll arrange a convenient appointment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PRESSURE WASHING IN REDHILL & REIGATE

1. How much does pressure washing cost in Redhill and Reigate?

There isn’t one fixed price because every property and surface is different.

The size of the area, type of paving, amount of dirt and organic growth, access and whether additional work such as re-sanding is required can all affect the price.

The easiest way to get an accurate price is to send me photographs of the area.

I provide free, no-obligation quotes.

2. Can you remove black spots from a patio?

Yes. Black spotting is commonly associated with lichen and other organic growth, although the exact cause can vary.

I can assess the surface and use an appropriate combination of cleaning products and controlled pressure washing where suitable.

Very established staining may require additional treatment and may not disappear completely in one visit.

3. Can you remove moss and algae from driveways?

Yes. Moss, algae and other organic growth can be removed from many suitable driveway surfaces.

For block paving, I can also re-sand the joints after cleaning if required.

5. Will pressure washing damage my patio?

Professional pressure washing should be carried out according to the surface being cleaned.

Using excessive pressure or the wrong technique can damage certain materials.

That’s why I adjust the pressure, nozzle, distance and cleaning method according to the paving.

Natural sandstone and other softer surfaces require particular care.

6. Can you clean sandstone patios?

Yes. Sandstone is one of the surfaces I particularly enjoy restoring.

Because natural sandstone is softer than concrete, I take care not to use unnecessarily aggressive pressure.

For heavily contaminated sandstone, a suitable cleaning treatment followed by controlled pressure washing can be used to remove algae, lichen, dirt and black spotting while helping to preserve the natural appearance of the stone.

7. Can you pressure wash decking?

Yes, but decking should not be treated in exactly the same way as concrete or paving.

I use a controlled cleaning method designed to remove algae, dirt and weathering while reducing the risk of damaging the timber.

8. Do you clean block paving?

Yes. Block paving can be cleaned to remove dirt, moss, algae and weeds.

Once the paving has been cleaned and is suitable for re-sanding, kiln-dried sand can be brushed back into the joints.

9. Do you clean porcelain patios?

Yes, suitable porcelain paving can be cleaned.

Porcelain requires an appropriate cleaning approach, particularly around joints and areas where algae or other organic growth has accumulated.

I assess the surface before deciding on the most suitable method.

10. Do you clean commercial properties?

Yes. I provide exterior cleaning for suitable commercial properties, including business entrances, walkways, forecourts and car parks.

Larger commercial jobs can be discussed individually and may be suitable for one-off or regular maintenance cleaning.

11. How long does pressure washing take?

There isn’t a fixed time because it depends on the size and condition of the area.

A small patio or pathway may be completed relatively quickly, while a large driveway, heavily contaminated patio or commercial area can take considerably longer.

I’ll give you an idea of the likely time when discussing your quotation.

12. Do I need to be at home while you clean?

Not necessarily. For some straightforward exterior cleaning jobs, arrangements can be made for me to carry out the work while you’re away.

This can be discussed when the job is booked.

13. Do you clean up after pressure washing?

Yes. Cleaning can produce dirty water, loosened moss, grit and debris.

I take care to tidy the working area and remove loose debris generated during the cleaning process.

14. Can I get a quote from photographs?

Yes. For many domestic jobs, photographs are a very useful starting point.

Send clear photographs showing the whole area and, if possible, a few closer photographs showing the condition of the surface.

I’ll then let you know whether I can quote from the photographs or whether I need to see the job in person.

15. How often should a patio or driveway be pressure washed?

There isn’t a universal timetable. It depends on the material, shade, drainage, surrounding trees, weather and how quickly moss and algae return.

Some properties may benefit from cleaning every year or two, while others may go considerably longer between cleans.

Regular maintenance can make future cleaning easier because heavy organic growth is less likely to build up.

16. Is pressure washing the same as jet washing?

The terms are commonly used to describe the same type of exterior cleaning.

You may hear people search for pressure washing, jet washing, power washing or patio cleaning.

The important thing is the cleaning method being used and whether it is appropriate for the surface.
