Exterior cleaning isn’t limited to paving.

Brick walls, garden walls and other masonry can become dirty and weathered over time.

Brickwork also needs care because different bricks can react differently to pressure and cleaning products.

I can assess suitable brick and masonry surfaces and use an appropriate cleaning method to remove surface dirt, algae, grime and other contamination.

I also have experience cleaning new-build brickwork, where light cleaning may be required after bricklaying to remove mortar snots, construction dust and general site contamination.

The cleaning equipment and pressure are selected according to the surface.

Some jobs benefit from more direct pressure cleaning, while others require a much more controlled approach.

DETAILING

Stubborn areas are given additional attention rather than simply increasing pressure across the whole surface.

FINAL CHECK

Once cleaning is complete, I inspect the area and make sure the main contamination has been dealt with and the surface has been left in a clean and presentable condition.

WHY THE RIGHT PRESSURE MATTERS

The term pressure washing can sometimes give the impression that the answer is simply to use as much pressure as possible.

It isn’t.

The pressure washer is a tool.

Knowing where, when and how to use it is what matters.

Concrete, block paving, sandstone, porcelain and timber all respond differently to cleaning.

For example, excessive pressure on softer sandstone can remove the surface of the stone, while aggressive cleaning of timber decking can damage the wood fibres.

That is why I don’t use the same setting or technique on every job.
